A vintage take on Tim’s tag for June. For the tag this month I used tissue paper from a vintage sewing pattern, thread and rick rack. (sorry there aren’t many pictures, I forgot to take them as I made the tag).
The first step was to create the “fabric” for the dress form. I used a piece of sticky back canvas, Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs, Chipped Sapphire, and Frayed Burlap following Stencil Plaid Technique. I set the canvas aside to dry.
The next step was the Tissue Wrap Collage Technique. I stamped a piece of tissue paper from a vintage sewing pattern and attached it to another tag. This eliminated the need for the vintage distress collage medium.
Then I die cut the dress form with the Sewing Room die. I also cut a spool and applied some vintage tissue paper to give it more of a wood look.
Now to put it all together. I placed the canvas on a plain tag where the dress form would be. Then I sewed the two tags together. I added some buttons, the spool with vintage thread and a needle. Rick rack was used tied at the top. Last I added some chit chat words.
Just love how the the tag turned out.
