A Snowy Day in the Woods

It is still winter here in Indiana, and I love seeing the sparkle of new snow (although I am patiently waiting for spring). I thought I would share my cards using Heartfelt Creations Merry and Bright Collection. The glittering snow in them just sparkles. This card has an extra surprise with a shaker box on the front flap. Hidden inside there is another card.

These are additional cards created with the Merry and Bright Collection.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations.

Easter Egg Hunt Layout

Easter2003.1

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing an Easter layout using CutCardStock Curious Metallics. My layouts are usually done as two 8.5″ x 11″ pages. When I started the scrapbook for my daughter this was the size available. (As you can see by the date, I am a little behind.)

I started with 2 sheets of Curious Metallics in Cryogen White. I wanted to to add a splash of color, so I used the Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and Distress Markers.

Next, I used We R Memory Keepers Hello Darlings 6×6 Paper for some background mats. I matted the larger picture with Curious Metallic in Violette and pink from the Core’dinations Adhesive Back Card Stock in Carnival.

I used my Sizzix eClips 2 to cut the title for my page from the Core’dinations Adhesive Back Card Stock. You can see how detailed I was able to cut the words.

The Core’dinations Adhesive Back Card Stock made it easy to apply the words to the page.

Then I added several Easter Eggs cut from Curious Metallics (Violette, Mandarin, and Lime) and Core’dinations Adhesive Back Card Stock. I matted some smaller pictures on the eggs. The large egg is hiding my journaling.

Watercolor Easter Eggs

EGG12After creating my version of Tim’s 12 Tags of 2015, I thought the technique  would look great on some paper mache eggs.  The paper mache eggs were too dark to use the Distress Markers on.  Then I remembered that Wendi Vecchi used newsprint and Ranger’s Glue n’ seal on surfaces so that she could stamp on them.  I thought may be this would work for me. So I have combined techniques from Tim and Wendi to create my eggs.

Step 1:  Tear up the newsprint into small pieces. This makes it easier to work on the curved surface of the egg. EGG1Step 2:  Spread Glue n’ seal with a brush to a small area. Attach a piece of newsprint. Smooth around the egg with the brush or your finger. Repeat until the egg is covered. Repeat for all eggs. EGG2 EGG3 EGG4Step 3: Allow eggs to dry.

EGG6Step 4: Using Archival Ink stamp images on eggs. I used the stamps without an acrylic block.EGG7EGG8EGG9Step 5: Color the stamped images with a variety of Distress Markers. Use the water brush to blend the colors.EGG10 EGG11Step 6: Place in basket and enjoy.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. I spent the day coloring eggs.

I combined techniques from Wendi Vecchi and Tim Holtz to create these watercolor eggs. I will be posting a tutorial tomorrow.
