Cards Heartfelt Creations Holidays

A Snowy Day in the Woods

It is still winter here in Indiana, and I love seeing the sparkle of new snow (although I am patiently waiting for spring). I thought I would share my cards using Heartfelt Creations Merry and Bright Collection. The glittering snow in them just sparkles. This card has an extra surprise with a shaker box on the front flap. Hidden inside there is another card.

These are additional cards created with the Merry and Bright Collection.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations.

Buttons and Blooms on a Pocket

This project was inspired by the Heartfelt Creations Patchwork Pocket and Patterns Stamp and Dies. I saw the pocket and just had to use the blue jean pockets I had been saving. I also saved some of the seams on from the back of the jeans which I used to make the hanger for the pocket.

The flowers and leaves I stamped on Pop-Tone Cardstock in various colors, after die cutting then I highlighted the edges with coordinating inks. The leaves I shaped with the 3D Leafy Accents Shaping Mold, the flowers I hand shaped with my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Then I layered set flowers topped of with a button and some twine.

I arranged the flower and leaves on the pocket and added a few strands of pearls. Then finished it off with a floating butterfly, a sentiment charm, and bow made of twine. It’s ready for a gift card, some chocolates or little gift.

This is a 6″ x 6″ card with a white cardstock base. I added a card front cut from the Buttons and Blooms Paper Collection. I repeated the process for creating the flowers and leaves. This time I added a bit of glitter to the flowers before attaching them to the card. Completing the card with a Happy Birthday sentiment.

This is a standard A2 card. I used part of a 6″ x 6″ patterned paper from the Buttons and Blooms Paper Collection for the background. Next I stamped and die cut a few hexagons from the Patchwork Pocket and Patterns Stamp Set and attached them with varying thicknesses of pop-dots. Then it was time for the leaves, flowers, and butterflies with a little bit of glitter.

It’s Coming Up Tulips…

in my dreams at least. Here in Northwest Indiana we are in the middle of a snow storm.

I had fun using the Heartfelt Creations Tulip Time Collection to create this miniature flower pot. I used a small candle cup for the pot and the smallest flowers and leaves. A toothpick was used to attach the banner.

When started shaping the flowers, I didn’t have any problems shaping the flower buds. It took a bit more to figure out how attach it to the stem, but when I thought of the shape at the top stem as a seat (it reminded me of the seat on an old tractor pedal car we had growing up, I think it might still be in the attic). I still wasn’t happy with the way the flower was looking. Tulip leaves don’t stick out to the sides like arms, the wrap around the stems. So I took a piercing tool and wrapped the stem around it to form a tube. Then from the back, I pinched the leaves where they join stem to the front. I added a bit of glue to hold the leaves in front.

Now I am in love with the tulip. You can also pinch the leaves to the back of the flower stem.

For this 6″ x 6″ I used the smallest tulips and some of the filler flowers in the coffee pot. The background paper is the back of the center square.

These cards where part of a Make-n-Take at Cafe Crop in Merrillville, Indiana.

This is an A2 card, with the medium tulips bursting out from the center of the card.

Thanks for stopping by to Tiptoe through the Tulips.

Cards Heartfelt Creations Karen Burniston

O Holy Night with Frame Pull Pop-up

When I sit down to design a card for myself or for a class, I let the paper to speak to me. Sometimes the paper yells at me and the card is done in no time. Most of the time the paper just talks nicely and I create with it.  But sometimes…. the paper whispers very, very quietly and I have to really listen and focus (or think outside the box).

I was working on creating a card with Heartfelt Creations “O Holy Night” Collection, but it wasn’t speaking very to me (not even whispering).

I had just received some of the new Karen Burniston’s Pop-up Dies. I have always been a fan of Karen Burniston’s pop up dies. I have some of the first ones from Sizzix and some from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I must confess…. I think I have almost all of her newest dies.

Then I had a brilliant idea. Could I use the Frame Pull Pop-up with a 3″ x 4″ cut apart card? I didn’t need to add anything to the width, but I would need to make it longer. I added a strip to the pull tab splicing it underneath.

Then I cut an A2 card base and a piece of patterned paper for the front. I positioned the mechanism to the patterned paper with staples.

Before going any farther, I stamped  a greeting on the inside of the card.

Then I attached the patterned paper to the front of the card. I added my 3″ x 4″ cut apart to the front of the frame and cut a piece 3″ x 3.5 for the inside top flaps (later I add a piece of sandpaper to the bottom flap for more texture).

I cut two tabs for the inside pop up feature and added my manger scene.

Last I added the poinsettias created with the Heartfelt Creations Poinsettias and Holly Clusters collection to the bottom of the card. I also add a piece of sandpaper to the bottom flap.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you enjoyed my card.

This ornament was created with an acetate layer to create a glass look.

The ladies had a great time creating their cards. They even a had a special guest during class.

Flying Flowers with Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Dreams Collection

Here are some of my projects I have finally had time to work on. These are cards created with Heartfelt Creations current release of the Butterfly Dreams Collection.

These cards were created for a class at Cafe Crop in Merrillville, IN.

The background of the first card was created with Ranger’s Distress Oxides. Then Color Bursts were used to paint the butterflies with clear glitter for that sparkle.

The second card the large butterfly was cut out using the matching die. I like how the dies are sized to match many of the images in the papers. A few large peach peonies were added to hide the blank space (left from cutting out the butterfly) and to provide a place for the butterfly to perch.

The last card uses the Decorative Medallion to create at trellis for the flowers to grow on and the butterflies to rest. These were so much fun to create.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. It’s been a crazy few months in my world. We have been busy getting our daughter moved to be with her husband, who just happens to be stationed in Hawaii. (Guess where we are planning our next vacation.) I have become a regular at the local post office. Then I needed to finish cleaning, sorting and putting things away. I think we have started to settle into a new normal. I still have a few boxes to ship.

Tropical Paradise Layered Card with Heartfelt Creations

Dreaming of a tropical paradise here in the Midwest. I am beginning to get tired of the cold, and rain. Wouldn’t this Tropical Paradise 3D layered card brighten anyone’s day.

I started with the Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Paper Collection, a 6″ x 6″ Layered Circle Cards in Kraft, the Tropical Paradise Cling Stamp Set and Die, the Palm Tree and Monkey Cling Stamp Set and Die, and the Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set and Die.

The stamped images were colored with Copic Markers. The flowers were stamped on colored cardstock and the edges were inked with Distress Inks.

Cards Riley & Company

Riley and Co. Card Bonanza September 17

Riley says Happy Fall Y’all! For this card I used the Dress Up Riley Stamps and Dies and the Dress Up Riley Fall Clear Stamps and Die.

Riley, Felix and Burt (and their matching dies) are ready for Halloween. I used the Dress Up Riley Halloween Outfits for their costumes.

Prickley Pear September ’17 Release Week: Day 4

It’s Christmas today on the blog. Even though cats and I don’t mix well, I love the new Kitty and Holly stamp. I layered some of the holly and Kitty’s paws. Looks like she is ready to pounce.

For this fun card I created a chipboard frame around the Glass Ornaments and layered them inside. A touch of Glossy Accents and the sentiment Welcome Christmas was all it needed.

Prickley Pear September ’17 Release Week: Day 3

It’s a little spooky here today on the blog. I featuring Frank and Cat in the Moon. The Spiderweb Gate Die makes a great backdrop for Frank. Happy Halloween is from the Halloween Banner Set. I added a little surprise when the lights go out.

I added glow in the dark paint the to moon, Frank’s and the pumpkin’s eyes.

I carried that over to the Skeleton ATC and SpookyHappy Halloween.

This Pumpkin Scarecrow should be able to scare anything away.
