In keeping with the red, white and blue them I created my tag for July. I went a different direction with the tag for more of a challenge.
I started with a layer of tissue paper.
Next, I used stencils and texture paste to create stars and stripes on the tag. I dried it with a heat tool. Then applied a layer of white gesso.
I added Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and Fired Brick. I wiped the stars and stripes with a baby wipe. Then I stamped a crackle stamp randomly on the background. I added roses dusted with glitter, some jute twine and variegated fiber, a mirrored star, and a heart on a pear pin.
As a final touch I created some chit chat type words, glued them down and smudged them with Black Soot Distress Marker.
I am happy to report that my replacement ink refill arrived. I compared the original refill to the replacement ink.
Thanks to Ranger customer service for the quick response.
