JulyTag15.6

In keeping with the red, white and blue them I created my tag for July.  I went a different direction with the tag for more of a challenge.

I started with a layer of tissue paper.

Next, I used stencils and texture paste to create stars and stripes on the tag.  I dried it with a heat tool. Then applied a layer of white gesso.

I added Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and Fired Brick. I wiped the stars and stripes with a baby wipe. Then I stamped a crackle stamp randomly on the background.  I added roses dusted with glitter, some jute twine and variegated fiber,  a mirrored star, and a heart on a pear pin.JulyTag15.4

As a final touch I created some chit chat type words, glued them down and smudged them with Black Soot Distress Marker.

I am happy to report that my replacement ink refill arrived. I compared the original refill to the replacement ink.

Ink

The ink on the left is the original bottle. The ink on right is the replacement bottle. As you can see the ink on the right is much thicker.

Thanks to Ranger customer service for the quick response.
