The World’s Greatest Dad is….

Look it’s a card. It’s memory book. No, it’s a Accordion Circle Card that stretches out to form a little memory album. I created the card and my daughter helped pick the pictures to go in the card.

Sometimes I pick my colors for my projects backwards. I knew I wanted to use the Basis Navy, so I found this patterned paper from BoBunny. Then I decided to use Basis Light Lime as my accent color.

First, I cut 6 of the Accordion Circle Cards from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of Basis 110# White cardstock. I also cut 16 Circle Frame Edges using Basis Navy cardstock.  I used the Accordion Circle Card die to cut 3 circle from Basis Light Lime cardstock.

Next, I covered 2 of the Accordion Circle Cards with the patterned paper.  On one of them, I also cut off the tab.  This will be the back cover.

Then, I glued the cards together with the tabs all facing to the right. (2 are shown) While the cards were still flat, I glued the Frame Edges around the circles, and added the accent circles and pictures.

Using my Sizzix eClips2, I cut the letters from Basis Light Lime and shadow layers from Silver Glitter and Cougar Super Smooth White for the front of the card.  I also cut letters for the last circle in the card from Basis Light Lime. These letters were less than 1/2″ tall.

The last step was to fold the pages like an accordion and connect the small tabs on the circles.

She added some little notes on the back of the circles for her dad. He loved the card.

Gearing Up for Father’s Day

Gearing up for Father’s Day. Here is a great card for the men in your life.  I created it as a Father’s Day card for the CutCardStock Design Team, but it could easily be made in to a birthday card by changing the sentiment.

Check out the details on the CutCardStock Blog.

Thanks for stoping by….. off to make some more cards.

Mini Books

Heritage Mini Book

Today I am sharing a little mini book I made for the CutCardStock Design Team with the Brown Bag Kraft A2 Bag Flap Envelopes and Brown Bag Kraft A2 Folded Cards.

I love making books from envelopes and cards.  The great thing is that by changing the size of the envelopes and cards you can customize your mini book. It is easy to create pockets and flaps. The possibilities are endless.

Here are a few pages from the mini book. I used papers from Authentique’s Heritage collection.

Hope you enjoyed the mini book. I will be adding photos of the “Moms” in my life.

If you get lost, come back here for the complete list.

Here is what I created….

My original plan was to create a card, but as I started working I decided to create a shadow box with a Ribba frame from IKEA.

CutCardStock Materials used:
Curious Metallics Cryogen White
Curious Metallics Chocolate
Pop Tones Razzelberry
Cougar White Super Smooth 80#
Great Impression Stamps:
H253 Parrot Tulips
H116 Empty Garden Pots
E748 Friends

I had a vision of placing the Parrot Tulips (H253) in the Empty Garden Pots (H116), so I used the MISTI and a vartiey of masks to create my finished image.

I chose to use Cougar White Super Smooth 80# paper for my image. I have found it works well when coloring with Copic Markers. I also stamped several additional images of just the pots and tulips. I then colored the images. I used E13,E07, E09, G03, G05, G07, G09, RV21,RV23, RV25, and R29.

I added color to the sky with chalk.

Then I cut out the extra images and layered them using Foam Dots.

I then layered the image with Curious Metallic in Cryogen White and Chocolate. I added a piece of lace to the Pop Tone Razzelberry. I used Foam Dots to attach the image.

I stamped Friends (E116) on a piece of Cryogen White. I layered it with Pop Tones Razzelberry and Curious Metallics Chocolate.

I painted some wood strips white to separate the layers in the frame.

I really love how it turned out. Please leave a comment. (I have been told there are some prizes.) Now head on over to Ruza’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other Design Team members blogs for more inspiration and leave them a comment for them.

Have a great day!
